Draw Poker...Not the card game

Has anyone used one of these? Do they acctually work? I generally like a pretty open draw, so I am disapointed at many a stick that might just be a little tooo tight. Can I poke it before I light it, if the pre-light draw is tight? What's the general concensus on these things?

I use my Henry's Draw tools and nubber. They work great when needed!

exactly, if my cheeks even start to cave in while puffing it messes up the smoke for me.

I’ve just used a metal or wooden skewer. Done it several times successfully on robusto and toro sizes. I’ll usually run it through a couple of times in different areas so I’m not just opening one hole in the center and actually felt it break through some blocked spots. You just have to be careful you don’t poke through the side of the cigar which I haven’t done yet. You may want to try this first before spending your money on a poker. I've been satisfied with the results.

I've also heard of people using unbent paperclips, assuming the blockage isn't all that far into the cigar.

That Henry’s Draw tool does sound good though since it cuts a channel rather than spreading the filler possibly splitting the wrapper especially on smaller ring sizes. Does it actually remove tobacco when it cuts the channel?

That's where my prototype is coming from, I have a Petrolygraph poker on loan.

I have the Henry's. It has a chisel tip that when you twist, cuts into the tobacco. Salvaged many a cigar.
