Off-the-wall Question

So I just got a new (my very 1st) laptop and the wireless is up and running and I'm loving it!! My concern/question is if I partake in my cigar hobby do you guys think that make my laptop stink? The books I read always smell like cigars and I'm worried that my laptop will end up the same way. I always smoke in my out-door shed with the door open. ANy of you guys run into anything like this??

Never thought aboutit, but my thought is probably not. because it is a hard slick surface, and the smoke would have to be in constant contact for extended periods of time to stick. The books smell bad because the paper is porous and will allow the smoke to settle in much faster. I think if you were in the shed 5-6 hours a day smoking then everything in there would end up smelling. But for one smoke a day and then removing the laptop from the shed when you are done, then you should be cool.

I always have mine when i am smoking and mine is alright. Unless you soak it in smoke you should be fine.

I doubt it, just keep compressed air on hand to get the ash out of the key board.

Mine will smell a bit after a night at the lounge, and the case even more, but it seems to go away after a short time.

Ashes in the key board is the only concern....unless your lap top inhales and doesn't exhale.

I smoke around mine all the time and it is none the worst for wear.

When I go out to my garage to smoke, I take my old beat up 5-year-old laptop that's not in "active duty" service anymore. Since it's already tore up like a $5 crack whore on a $100 night, I don't mind it getting all stinky and ashy. It's really not suitable for much beyond web surfing, but that's all I do when I'm out smoking anyways.

That is what I bought my laptop for. i sit here in the parking lot of wholesale Foods smoking an Old Henry and using the laptop.
