Ok, my father called me up today and told me that the Dewalt (DW735)Planer I was looking at is on sale for 17% off. So I went to Home Depot to see if they had the same price since it is closer to me, but they didn't and said that I needed to show them that Lowes had a better price. Therefore I went to Lowes, but they were not advertising it in their ad I took a picture of all the information on my phone.

I then went to the Home Depot (not the same one I originally went to, because there was a closer one to Lowes than the one close to my house) and after about 30 mins they said they would not honor their price match guarantee.

Since I had just wasted a good 45 mins now I started to head home and realized I had nothing better to do than see if the Home Depot need my place would honor their price match. Just an FYI I don't buy power tools at Lowes since they really pissed me off once and I said I would buy power tools from them again. Anyways Home Depot (the one near me) match the price and gave me an additional 10%. I ended up getting it for $410 which is great since they retail for $549. I just thought I would share since they haven't fixed the price yet and someone else might be able to take advantage of this price.

I was at Lowe's yesterday and saw a DeWalt trailer with a NASCAR car in it. There were a hal dozen guys setting up tool displays. Then I heard on the radio that HD was having a DeWalt sale. Do these two companies use the same marketers or what?

To my knowledge DeWalt sets their prices. So when there is a sale it comes from the company not the retailer.

Powermatic pisses all over my Delta 12". I have shop tool envy. Taking a look at the Steel City Granite Cabinet Saw though. So sorry for the thread-jack. DeWalt makes a good planer and you should have much fun making flat boards and lots of curly sawdust. Rock on my wood-butcher brother.
