As an off-road enthusiast, I have two Jeep wranglers.
One is street legal, the other is modified/chopped/built to the point that it won't pass safety or emissions inspections anymore.
The other one, which is technically still street legal, is what I lovingly refer to as our "deathtrap"
Jeep Wranglers are a no-compromise off-road vehicle that are
just barely suitable for street driving. As the only body-on-frame "truck" under 1-ton (in fact, they are only 1/4 ton) with a live
solid front axle as opposed to
independent front suspension, it should be obvious to anyone why they drive like shit on the street. But because of that solid front axle, they are unmatched off-road by anything else on the market.
Jeep Wranger = purpose-built vehicle...and that purpose is NOT street driving.
