I found this nice little pond near my mom's house, and NO I will not tell you where it is :eyebrow: But I fished for a couple hours, and braught this nice stringer in......

It may look small but there is 32 brim on that one, and yes that is my big goofy ass holding them up. As of now I have about 50 brim (just from 2 trips to this pond!) in my freezer just waiting for my big anual fish fry. My family LOVES brim, and I hope to have about 150 before I get ready to fry, Man I love spring time!

Fishing? Me? Just a little bit.

Oddly, when it comes to fishing, over the past 11 years, I've spent about 2.5 million dollars (the vast majority of which was never mine, really, but let's don't suffer ourselves the tawdry details) -- and probably kept fewer fish than you have on that stringer!

Very nice! I love fishing! I never heard of Brim before, are they also known as Sunnies or Sun Fish?

I had to look it up on google, but yes they are. They are some of the best eating fish you can catch, and I keep them as small as I catch them, about 3 fingers tall. Clean them whole (no head) and fry them.

And coolhand, I've never caught a fish I could'nt keep:headroll:

I usually catch a few catfish this time of year too, They put up a good fight, and taste good too.

That's 'cause most sunfish breed like roaches, and grow about as fast, and you guys have a ton of water to pursue them in. One of the enviable conditions of southern living. Get into some colder water and you have to be nicer to mother nature.

Though I can say I've caught the same trout 3 or 4 times. In the shop we have a series of 4 photos, 3 different anglers, 4 different days, same trout in every one! You'd think he'd have learned to check his meals for a line!
