Thanks Dave, I've been waiting to try one of these...

But seriously, I personally agree with you Jason, but I also agree with Todd. I don't want to put restrictions on this thread, but I do think some of the items you listed are things to consider.

Personally I would like people to post what they have received already. I look back on some of the wishlist and notice that I can cover a few sticks, but someone has already posted that they can also cover a few also. But I have I have no clue what they have received. I think this is a good thing to do so people know what you still are wishing for and what you have received.

Remember that the Brotherhood is all about sharing and Paying it Forward. If you can't afford to, or don't have the "ammunition" to do so, please think long and hard before posting something in a thread like this.
Is it bad form to post a wish list here if you can't (yet) pay it forward on this particular list? Tubaman very generously fulfilled some of my wishes here, but I've been trying to pay-it-forward by fulfilling wishes on the NC wish list and elsewhere, since I don't have many Habanos. (Of course, once I have acquired more Habanos, I'll be on the lookout for wishes that I can fulfill.)

That's all anyone can ask Asher.

And please don't get me wrong folks. I was not suggesting any rules or regulations need to be instituted here. Over all, the Wish List threads have been ongoing for at least three years now, and I'm pretty sure it goes back farther than that, so obviously something is going right. As I said, more of a (opinion based) reality check. Carry on!

Wow, that was really unnecessary. I sincerely hope you were being sarcastic...which would only serve to demonstrate how difficult sarcasm is to convey on the internet.

Folks, let's just get this back on track. My post was not meant with an animosity and I hope that anyone that might have taken offense can understand that and take what I said for what it was worth. The very last thing I want is to derail this thread. If anyone has an issue with my post, please feel free to PM me and I will be happy to discuss it with you. Beyond that, let's move beyond this and get back to the topic at hand: What's your wish?

I think those of us that know you understand what you were trying to say Jason. I agree that we need to take a step back and look at the people that are granting these wishes, namely oneaday:1st:. Several brothers have been very generous in filling wishes without asking for a thing back, but think about what you are asking of your brothers. I've been looking for some CC wishes to grant, but some of them have been out of my league. I don't have a bunch of ELs and REs to throw around. I do have some aged sticks, but nothing really exotic. I think the issue Jason was trying to get at was this... If you've never had a CC, or only a couple, shoot for some starter sticks instead of the top shelf stuff. If you can't fulfill anything on a CC list, should you really be asking for $15+ sticks. BTW guys, I've been guilty of this, too.

I say that knowing that 80-90% of the wishes are kosher. I think it just stands out when you see the others. We have some great new guys coming in here, but you're always a little leary of the new cat that comes in asking for a Fundadores, a Sig VI and a PSD3. Nothing against the new guys, but we're just getting to know you guys. Now, if I've stuck my foot in my mouth, please feel free to let me know.

I don't think it was you who stuck his foot in his mouth.

This same conversation was had at the begining of this thread and needed to be revisited. I have to agree with Wasch-24 as well, no one is forcing anyone to send the smokes. If you want to give away a Highend smoke to a noob, then do it, if not don't. I got my wish fulfilled last year, and don't really have enough CC's to pay it back/forward so I'm out. Like myself many noobs are just asking to try a CC and don't know what to ask for. I see nothing wrong with that, but revising you list after receiving a wish by adding more wishes doesn't seem right. my .02

I'm sorry you feel that way.

Wow, no way to treat a long time member here.

I sincerely hope you offer up an apology quick.
:squinteye

That is completely uncalled for.

Oh crap, you're right....the EDITS.....

Well no wonder I got peppered with PMs about his post! I guess my thinking it was a joke was due to a lack of understanding on what has transpired previously.

So like....okay, maybe the d*ck is pointing in the wrong direction!

...Common Sense and Courtesy were not exhibited in post #138, in my opinion.
I thought it was a joke as well until I saw his edit a few posts before.
What ever the intent so be it...
Post 130 originally stated my wishlist which was pretty much whatever willing brothers had, I would take. I listed:

Any cohiba
Any Monte
Any H. Upman, etc.

The following post condemed my "type" of wishlist...I took it personal. I felt like I was being called out. So I removed it.

Post 138 was a "I know you are, but what am I" response.

If I offended you JWRussel...Well, please accept the bomb I launched.

It's nice to see that things worked out for everyone.

Hmmmm...I don't know about that...Daviso27 has made the third classic blunder:

"The first is never get involved in a land war in Asia. The second, only slightly less well known, is this: never go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line!"

And of course the third, is: never launch first! :assaultri

Totally unnecessary Sir, but I will accept it in the spirit it was offered. Just watch your back now...:stretchgr
