A very good buddy of mine asked me to build his wife a tack box. For those that don't know what a tack box is, (as I didn't) it's a box to hold all the gear, brushes, bridals, ankle wraps and stuff like that. I looked on line and got a few ideas, and a couple from Vince, and got to building. It's nothing special, but kinda fun.
Frontal Shot (God I love a good frontal shot)
The metal on the edges is aluminum angle which I textured with 80 grit sandpaper and a random orbit sander. I've always wanted to do this, but never had a reason for it.
The inside of the lid has a cork board to keep notes and a slotted area
to hold these things that wrap around the horses ankles, not sure what they're called.
Of course it has a carrying tote for brushes and such.
The handles are made from leather straps that go under the horses mouth and hold the bridal, not sure what they're called, but I thought they looked cool and tied in more of the horse theme.
