Man I hate this time of year! Just finished writing checks to the federal, state and local goverment for taxes. It's been so long since I had a refund I'm starting to believe they are urban myths spread by the goverment!

If the goverment didn't waste the money having to pay extra might not burn my butt so bad. But when you read some crazy group got one million dollars to study the mating habits of the common three toed clothing moth or some other insane idea. It gets you right where you live.

I'll be cracking a cold one latter and toasting all of us who get that year tax bill! The least they could do is kiss you first!

Rant over, me sorry!

Everone one needs something to believe in. I believe I'll have another beer!

Why are you writing the checks now? In the past, when I owed, I wrote and mailed 'em off on the last possible day.

Also, you should adjust your weekly deductions so a bit more gets taken out over the course of the year. That way you don't have to send your uncles a check come April. I basically try to break even or maybe have a small refund at tax time. That way I can at least have some mad money to blow at the beginning of summer.

I'm with Ted. If I owe, it goes out on the 15th, late afternoon.

My accountant and I have a deal. If he keeps the it so I either owe, or pay, around $2000. I'll keep him as my accountant. In 15 yrs, he has kept his end of the bargain, and I have kept mine. It's split over the years, as far as paying or getting back. This year I get back $800.

Absolutely. I can't understand why people lend the government money interest free for over a year and then are excited when Uncle Sam gives it back to them
