....so, I haven't been on the board lately.
Was getting pretty frustrated trying to read the computer screen for the first couple of weeks after my PRK surgery. Got a pair of cheapo reading glasses and that helped. Got busy with my job since I was off for a week.
And then, back in January, I started to inquire about a position in our Central Office that hadn't seemed to have been filled. It's a rather specialized field, so they were having trouble finding a viable candidate. One thing lead to another, and as it turns out, my background makes me more than qualified to fill the slot. So, I ended up interviewing for the position on April Fools Day... took a chance there.... and got a call on Wednesday with an offer.
I'd been trying to get all my projects caught up just in case I did get the job, so I've been putting a lot of time in at the office.
So, sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'll be leaving my position as a Construction Project Engineer and taking up my new position as the Construction Management Engineer for the Commonwealth. Should be pretty interesting... project scheduling, dispute resolution and claims avoidance/defense Statewide.
Hope to slow down a bit here soon so I can catch up and get back on with some regularity.
Hope all is well with the Brotherhood.
