Hey East Coast BOTLs. My wife and I are flying into Phila delphia on May 18th. My 80 year old Aunt lives in Allentown and we plan on spending Memorial day weekend with her. This leaves us with 5 or 6 days. We were thinking about seeing the Chesapeake area after doing the Phily historical deal. Any ideas on where to go and what to do? When we were in college we did the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and remember the area as pretty nice. Any help would be appreciated.

In Philly, do the independence hall stuff, get to Pat's king of Steaks on Passyunk, and go to the art museum if you're into that. Also, Holt's is in Philly. As for the bay, I'd go to Baltimore inner harbor. You're also not far from Atlantic City when you're in Philly- just so you know.

Chuck, I'll definitely come out to meet for a smoke, dinner, whatever. It's a little early for crabs, but I know a few excellent spots

Also, let me know where you're staying in MD and I'll give you some ideas.

Be sure to hit CI and FS. Both a stones throw away from Allentown.

I believe CI is having a big party that weekend.

Oh I am well known at CI. I cant wait to see the new showroom. The guys know I come bearing gifts.

Greg I think we are going to stay in Phily the first night and then the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort thru Thursday. Then on to Allentown and leave on Monday. We were looking for a nice place on the water and I was hoping for suggestions. I was hoping for crab. Bummer.

We used to live in Boston and then CT. Been to the Poconos. Hoping for the Maryland seacoast ideas.
I saw where you guys are staying, very nice . I do not know that part of Maryland. I only stay in the inner harbor of Baltimore, sorry.

There's lots to do around there, from the historical stuff or a little further west into Amish country. Also, if you wife is into such things, Longwood Gardens is pretty nice to see. I believe it was a DuPont family garden thing. Lots of DuPont stuff around there and just over in Delaware.
I hail from that neck of the woods but haven't been back in many years. Outstanding warrants. :rolling:

Definitely do the Longwood Gardens if you get a chance. If driving, all the stone walls built in that area were built by the masons DuPont used to repair and built the powder works. They didn't want to lay them off and then need a repair. So, they just kept them busy building the walls all over the place.
