Taxes on Cigars

At my local B&M is sovereign nation, i.e Indian Reservation there are no taxes. What do you guys typically expect to pay per cigar?

$50 in taxes?!?! Ouch.

What i've noticed from state to state...

$10 stick in ohio and PA cost 12.50 in Indiana

I assume the extra 2.50 is tax, so that would be 25%.

but again, this is all speculation on my part. I've never really paid attention to the tax i pay. I guess i'm jsut an ignoratn consumer who blindly pays whatever they tell me to.

In California, its about 47% taxes on tobacco. I think Colorado is 46%

i think Maryland cigar tax is ONLY 15% and DC has no cigar tax :grin:

But DC can hit you hard with those rarity taxes lol

Most my sticks are bought by the box out of state so taxes are not an issue. As per price per stick that depends on EVERYTHING. Tax is 7% here in WV.
