Ok, i'm obviously no computer genius, so i need some help posting pictures. I would like to be able to just insert the picture into the text like you can on say a Word doc. or an email...Insert, Picture, From File...

But all i can seem to do is post pictures via attachments. I know it can be done cuz i've seen lots of peoples do it.

I know i can go to the Insert Image icon from the BOTl toolbar, but the prompt looks like it needs to be on a webpage somewhere. DO i need to start putting all my pics on a free picture posting site? Flickr for example.

Thanks in advance

I'm curious about this too. I can only attach a picture as a .jpg thumbnail at the end of the post. I don’t know how others get a full size pic in so you can have text between the pics. Also, at work I can only view pics that are inserted as thumbnails or full size pics that are inserted in the post. If pics come from a picture posting site I usually can’t view them because WebNONsense blocks most of those sites. Thanks for bringing this up bball.

go to the USERCP.
on the left under the networking header, you'll see photos and albums.
Upload you picture there
next click on the picture to maximize it.
At the bottom you will see 2 lines of code.
Copy and paste the bottom line of code
add it to your post as a link.

yep, that worked

Are you saying that the full size images that I can see in some posts are from an internet site and those particular ones are getting past WebNONsense?
Maybe--I mean, that sounds correct....but then again, I don't know exactly what your filter is doing. <shrug>

But to be very specific, in order to use the tag in your posts (which is how people put those full-size images in their posts, rather than attached thumbnails at the end), you must *LINK* to a photo/graphic that's already on the Internet somewhere.

I personally use Picasa because it's a Google product, and I already use a ton of other Google products so it fits into my workflow. But dpricenator's post talking about hosting images on the BOTL gallery might work best for you.

Actually, you can use the attachments with img tags. Just upload the attachment as usual, then right-click the link to the attachment and open it in a new window or tab. Then copy that link and use it with the img tags.

Anyone who has a mac, this is a handy app that comes with free (for now anyway) hosting for the images:
http://skitch.com/

It also gives you forum code so you can just copy and paste.

Otherwise you can sign up for a photobucket account. I would keep pictures hosted on BOTL cigar related. No sense adding other stuff and running up Eric's hosting bill.

The worm. Can't beleive this "piece of work" was a Piston.

I have to copy this and show Vinney (Johnson). He is a business associate of the company I work for. Can't wait to hear his response. Oh, and he is a BIG HERFER.

So Gale, did you get it figured out? Sorry I didn't reply to your PM, I was working last night and just didn't have time to sit down and write a reply. Basically once you host your pic somewhere, or if you find a pic on the net that you want to use, simply type in:

(then just copy and past the url between those two codes using no spaces.
