OK I have read the new article in CA about Lanceros and I have started smoking more of them over the last few months and am really liking them. The only problem is where do you find them. Are there any places out there that really keep them in stock, or is it hit or miss?

Any places you guys could send me to would be great!

Thanks,

I too have been throughly enjoying my share of lanceros over the past few months. I've been stocking up on them since.

I've had a lot of success with the Oliva Serie V, which is tastey.

I'm currently having success with the Illusion Hly Lances. Looking to pick up a few more of these next week at a really good b&m in Pittsburgh. Hop ethey still have them. New Havana Cigars has them in stock too.

I'm having a helluva time finding the Coronado by LFD Lanceros. The Coronados are great tasting cigars, so i can only imagine how good the lanceros are, but i can't find them anywhere.

Ive got great access to Padilla 1932 and the 8&11 lanceros as well. Both of these are always in stock at that same B&M.

The DPG Blue lanceros can oftent imes be had on some trades form botls

Certainly finding full boxes on line would be much easier that singles here and there. I do 90S% of my buying in handfuls, 5 or 6 of this, 7 or 8 of that. Rarely do i make a full box purchase.

Not sure how you do your purchasing, but i'd be glad to pick some stuff up for next week. Going to that b&M on Thrusday, July 3rd. Can't wait. They have SOOOO much stuff and one helluva stock of tats and pepin stuff.

Lemme know.

After reading that CA article I plan on lighting up a pepin lancero I have been looking at in my humi. Didn't realize the wrapper taste comes across a lot better in the lancero.

Serious lies!
No...they were telling the truth. They had the exclusive when it first came out, so they were the only place to get the first run. After the 2nd release anyone who had an account could place an order for them.

At least that's how it was explained to me.

The Coronado Lanceros?

Those are going to be a short run just like the DL lanceros. I don't think they will ever hit big numbers, but will probably be around in small numbers like the DL Oscuro Lancero.

I will be scanning this thread more closely to find some gems in the lancero size. I'm brand spankin' new here, so I'll let you know I have made a move from robusto to corona recently. At least I am smoking more corona/lancero sized vitolas than ever before. As a result, I am looking for excellent, inexpensive ones. The problem is there aren't that many I've found. Yet! Dissecting this thread may change that. Not positive if anyone has mentioned my personal favorite yet, so here it is. Abdel AJ Fernandez's hidden gem, La Herencia Cubana Core Lancero. I bought quite a few of them from CI, when I saw them in the MMAO section of that website. They weren't cheap, by my standards, at just over $3.00/stick, but they were cheap by comparison to the asking price of the rest of the sizes in that line. $10.00 to $12.00 is full freight, which I simply can't afford. Thankfully, I have found quite a few good deals online for this blend. I consider it a top 10er & have lavished it with gaudy 94 & 95 ratings, while gushing over the multi-region ligero laden long fillers, habano viso binder & remarkable habano Ecuador sun-grown ligero wrapper. Full bodied, full flavored & brought to you in a way that is distinctively AJ. That is to say, it is nearly perfect in every respect, except price. I believe the secret to why I adore this blend as much as I do, besides the obvious quality of tobaccos employed, is the fact that all those exotic Nicaraguan & Honduran ligeros are married to a smooth, comforting friend, Pennsylvania Broadleaf. It's the 1st time I had seen that leaf utilized in the body of the cigar. And it works like a charm. Delicious. If you, like me, are a dedicated fullhead, I think you will find Core to be uber complex, ultra strong, but never, ever harsh or cloying. Truthfully, I can name only a few similar concoctions. Prensado comes to mind. The blends are miles apart, but share the common characteristic of delivering a sucker punch to the gut in strength, but in a manner that is so smooth, that you don't even know what hit ya. Until you stand up too quickly or suck one down to the nub on an empty stomach. I discourage doing either one, but encourage everyone looking for a powerhouse lancero to give Core a try. If you can find them. They disappeared from CI, suggesting a limited production run or special size that never appeared in a box. Like my 2nd favorite small ring gauge spleef, Diesel corona. Either way, I have been on CI like stink on doodie, to call AJ personally to request some more. Or even better, to put the lancero into normal production.

Out of all my cigars I maybe have 3 lanceros tops. I was avoiding em like the plague for fear of burn issues. I was really craving some d e a few weekends ago. I knew id be in the yard with kids so I didn't want something that produced alot of smoke but also knew that I would be outside for about four hours. I worked up the courage and smoked a herra estelli lance and let me tell ya what.. it was one awsome cigar. It Burned perfectly with an amazing flavor. Once again a big thank you to @Mossome
