That was insane! I think the Z06 had some work done to it as well as the driver of the Gallardo not shifting right.

i raced a z06 on my street bike. i had him until he hit 6th. we were going about 145mph and he started pulling ahead of me. he must of got that thing up to 160-170.. unbelievable.

That Lamborghini likely cost at least twice as much as the Corvette...even with substantial modification to the Corvette.

Money can't buy you skills. Also, I don't know if I'd call that "Smoked", it did hold it's own a bit. IMO, smoked is more than a few car lengths.

To me, running the Gallardo is like running a stock Vette performance wise. You want to compare top line vette to top line lambo, go to the Murcielago LP640 and run it. Top speed is about 25 Km/H and 4 tenths faster in the 0-100 KM/H, over the "standard Gallardo.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the Z06 could smoke a Gallardo without any work whatsoever.

Just listening to that vette purr, is a sweet sound. For the price not much out there that will touch the Z06.

i wonder if the z06 could hold up with the Gallardo or Ferrari on a true race course, not just a straight line....

In no way am i trying to say that the z06 is a lesser race car, because there is no better bang for your buck on the market right now, but it is a legitimate question....

From what I have read, the z06 was engineered by the engineers who designed the lemans car. Corvette also races on several european race circuits.

It looks like a lot these races are on major highways, therefore not being able to come to a complete stop, just my guess.
