What do I need?

Ok, It looks like I will be going to India for 6 weeks for work, unless one of my managers speak up and says I need to stay in here (which looks unlikely).

Now I need to get a few items for my trip. I'm planning on getting a 50 count Cigar Caddy and Boveda packs. I have a cheap lighter and the Colibri Tranpack and I'll take some matched and a cutter. But I have a few questions:

How do I take butane for refilling?

Is there anything that I'm missing?

you may still lose you good lighter, even in the transpack. I heard some of the guys let them through and some were confiscated. I would say you should be ready to rely of matches or a biuc once you get there. Don't they smoke alot in India? you should able to get fire there easily.

My daughter just returned from a 2 week mission trip to India. They went to Varanarsi (sp?) Patnya (sp?) and Kolcuta (again sp?).

It was a life changing trip and she said she NEVER wants to go back. We saw all of her photos and I must say, none of it looked like somewhere you would want to vacation.

Don't know where you are going, but I bet it will be very interesting!

As long as everything pans out I will be going to Hyderabad which is a city where my company has a huge office. Anyways, they stick us in a 5 start hotel and we have drivers who take us around whereever we need/want to go. Anyways, so I doubt it will be much like your daughter's trip, but its still wont be America.

Good luck with the Colibri Tranpack, I have lost a torch lighter in CWS neck of the woods at the Santa Maria Airport (good thing it was a older torch), The TSA agent was soooooooo happy she found it,( I wanted to Bitch Slap her) she even pulled it up on the internet to show me that lighters r ok, But single, double, and triple burners torch lighters are still not allowed this was in Aug 07 (even in the Colibri Tranpack)...If your going to be there that long, just buy one there....Good luck on your trip

Why would you want to go to India???

Anyway you might not want to carry your lighter you'll be able to purchase a decent butane lighter there for a couple of bucks along with cheap butane to refill it.. usually these lighters are Chinese made and work decently for a year or so and are extremely cheap so why risk getting one of yours confiscated?

I don't know for sure but I think there is a LCDH in Hyderabad you should be able to get some decent smokes there.. if all else fails just cross the border and come my way I'll take care of you:smokingbo

I've put a 3 dollar Ronson lighter in my toiletry bag. There's lots of metal/glass/plastic containers in there with liquids (cologne, soap, shampoo, etc) already along with razor and toothbrush, so I think it gets scanned through easily. If they get it, they get it, out 3 bucks. But not out 20 on a Tranzpak and a decent lighter. Hasn't been taken yet.

6 weeks might be a long time to be in India, but maybe you get some sightseeing time. Just make the best of it. It's a part of the world with a lot of history that a lot of Americans never get to.
