Hi folks, My name is Dave. I live in the desert East of San Diego. I'm new to cigars, but really enjoy them - every aspect of the hobby. I actually came to stogies in an odd way...I became interested in cigar history last year and read extensively on the subject. I only started lighting up about a month ago...I smoke a new cigar every day (two on "beer days") and look forward to it each and every day. It looks like you guys have a good group here and I've already learned quite a bit. Thanks for letting me hang out

Welcome aboard! so what got you interested in cigar history?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm a bit of a history buff, so I tend to look for interesting facts and then expand from there. In this case, I read somewhere that JFK's humidor was sold at auction for some insane amount. I Googled "humidor" and went from there. The history of cigars, including the political history, is very interesting.

Welcome from a fellow nerd. Last night at dinner I was telling my 12 year old son about how the San Francisco Giants and LA Dodgers were originally from New York and looked online to see where the NY Giants had played (Polo Grounds in upper Manhattan). My son's response -- "most people are interested in how the people on the teams play, you're more interested in the geography of their stadiums."

That sounds just like something I'd do.

But have no concerns, fellow BOTL's, I would much rather smoke a cigar than read about one :)
