Humidors have been set up for a few months and I was just wondering about the results I am getting. I am running 65% beads in a 25-50 count and a 150 count. Both boxes are full and the room they are in has a window unit AC, and I am getting a steady 73 degrees and 69% humidity in both boxes. I store 100% NC's, so my question is: should I worry about the fact that after several months the humidity stays at a steady 69%, the reason I ask is I figured after all this time the beads would have it at a level 65%. The hygrometers are calibrated and I use a digi to check against them as well.

i hope that you are using digitals in both of your humidors. i consider analogs to be decoration.

summer is perhaps the toughest time of year to store cigars. winters are easy, its dry, so you just need to add water. also, our homes are usually at a pretty consistan temperture in winter. summers are tougher. big temp swings and high humidity levels.

sounds to me like you have everything under control. I think that your beads are working fine. even small temp changes can cause pretty big swings in humidity readings. sometimes the beads cant keep up with the temp swings.

Yes, I am using digitals in both, the analog decorations are pretty true but yeah, I don't trust 'em either.

My window unit is in OT, but it stays pretty consistant tempature in a smallish room. I have been using puckifiers in both for 2 or 3 months and have yet to add water(distilled of course) to any of the 3 I have. Which also makes me wonder if that is part of the reason it stays at 69% with the window unit adding humidity to the room. The pucks only show a small percentage of white beads.
