Hey guys. Sorry I've been absent lately, but lots of other stuff has been occupying my time.

- Finished a major software project at work last month. I have one more project to finish by October, which will probably be the last one for my current employer - as they have no clue how to market or sell IT services. I don't look forward to testing the job market during the later part of the year, but I may have no choice.

- Been back in school (almost full time now) trying to finish up my loooooong overdue BA degree in Bus. Admin - although I've been having thoughts on getting into the Law / Paralegal field. (Working on $30 million dollar boats would be nice too :glassesgr ... but my finish carpentry skills suck.)

- I put myself on an exercise + nutrition program earlier this year to get down to my HS weight of 165. I was a bloated 205 last year and now I'm at 175. I'm now working out 4-5x per week. Feels good to get back into my old 34 waist jeans.

- My wife was involved in a bad car wreck two weeks ago. Some 86 yr old man ran a red light and hit her almost head on @ 35mph. She's mostly OK, except for a banged up knee, left hand and some seat belt rash. Our 2005 Mazda3 was totaled though, so I've been dealing with all the paperwork there and trying to get a replacement vehicle. I decided to buy two used cars - one for my son and a small truck for me. I got almost $16K for the Mazda - and I spent $4600 to buy a 2001 Camry for my son. Still looking for a good used truck, as there is so much junk out there. It's amazing what some people consider "great condition" ... :scratchhe :wtf:

- I've also basically quit smoking as I seem to have lost my taste for tobacco. This has happened to me before - so I stopped for a few weeks and then tried some old favorites. Still didn't like the taste. Tried something different after a few more weeks - same. Seems like my recent passion for wine has turned me off tobacco for good. :dunno: I already sold most of my cigars - so look for some pipe sales later this year.

That's about it for now. I'll try to get back here on a more frequent basis.

Good to hear from you Ted. Was beginning to worry. At our age not hearing from someone is not good. Sorry to hear about the accident but glad all is well. Lost youir taste for the leaf? I guess it happens. Good luck and keep in touch.

Welcome and enjoy! Check out the search function to answer any questions first then ask everyone else or you will irritate some of the FOG's that have been around for awhile. Enjoy yourself, there is a lot of knowledge and tolerant individuals here who will be more than glad to help you with your journey here!

One more thing, don't ask about cuban cigars. That is looked down upon here.

Just in case you forgot! :tonguerol

1) Glad your wife is pretty much OK, a head on crash at that speed could've been a lot worse.

2) Sorry to hear you've lost your taste for cigars, but life is full of change.

3) Even if you no longer smoke, please don't leave us, friends are friends even if you no longer share a similar hobby.

I miss you round these parts Ted.

Glad to hear everyone is OK. Also sorry to hear of losing your taste for cigars, just keep some real good ones around and keep trying them. If not enjoy good wine.
