Beer Pong vs. Beirut

The game everybody plays is called Beirut, but everybody calls it beer pong. So few people play true beer pong that there's never any confusion when referring to beirut as beer pong. I hate when people get all upset and are like 'you're playing beirut!'.
The cool local college bar has beer pong tourneys every Tuesday. $10/team and 1st gets $100 bar tab and 2nd gets $20 bar tab. My buddy and I got 4th last night, but we're gettin better!

When I was younger, we played a variation of Beruit, still hit the ball into the beer stationed at the end. You could pass off the beer if you could hit the beer, through a Nerf basketball hoop that was suspended a couple of feet down from the ceiling.

One guy cleaned freakin house, everyone was stupid drunk, and he was laughing.

We just called it 'that-stupid-ping-pong-game-that-Ricky-always-dominates'

There were a few residents who lived at an apartment complex I used to run who made a table for the pool. I think it was hard surfaced though. I never saw it or I am sure i would have used it and then I probably would have never left that place. I still wish I wouldn't have.

I was surprised to see a post in this thread from you figuring you had probably not heard of either game and certainly wouldn't spend the time to read the whole thread. Maybe we can order one of the inflatable tables for thebeach herf.

First I would like to say THANK YOU! For trying to clarify this. I had the same problem. When I went to school in Florida I attended a party and was asking to get on the list to play Beruit... After many minutes of "huh" and "wtf are you talking about" I finally said. What do you call it. Astounded and in awe by how stupid these people were I played one game and was so frustrated I couldn't even enjoy the beer in my hand. No one in Florida knows the meaning of beruit (my favorite drinking game) Round 2 I will try to convert some people. But yes, Beer Pong=table and paddles... ergh! The term tweaks me so bad. IT'S BERUIT! DON'T FORGET IT! BERUIT BERUIT BERUIT!!!!!!!!! also... in FL everyone plays 6 cup... never heard of 10 15 or 21. 6 is for one on one 10 is for two 15 is for three and 21 is for 4... or you could switch it up depending on how much beer you want to drink.... I don't like 6 cup personally... never want to play it again!!!! (unless one on one) I do realize everyone plays with different rules, but FL beruit is retarded... excuse my language please don't be offended.
