I like your style! Sorry for the delay fellas, but it's been a hectic 24 hours to say the least.
Linda has been bugging me asking what I wanted for my birthday, so a few weeks ago, I heard an ad on the radio that the Eagles were coming to town. Now I'm a huge Eagles fan but have never seen them live so I called her right away and said that's what I wanted, for her and I to go to the concert. She himmed and hawwed a bit and said "well, I know some of their songs", to which I replied, "WTF, you know all their songs, we listen to them all the time." So I said no biggie, we can do something else. A couple days later, I proposed that maybe I should call one of my best friends, Joe, and see if he wanted to go with me to the concert, but then said that "no, I should spend the day with you."
Jump to last night.
I call Linda on my way home from work and at the end of the conversation, she asks, "so what time will you be home"? Which she never does! Hmmm. I get home and Joe's car is in the driveway, after the initial shock and hugs, we sit down to dinner as Joe said he had clients to visit in the area and thought he'd come over for the night for my Bday, sweet! As we're eating, Linda tells me to open my card. As I do, two Eagles tickets appear at which time I started putting together why Joe was really there...to see the Eagles, not me! Ok, cool, I get to see the Eagles too. Well it just so happens that at the time I called Linda to tell her the Eagles concert is what I wanted for my birthday, she'd already gotten the tickets and talked to Joe, made plans for him to go with me and spend the night at our place.
I tell you, it was the second best birthday I ever had (Linda and I started dating on my birthday years back.)
The concert was just flat out awesome, we had great seats and the band sounded perfect. Frey was great, Henley was beyond excellent, Walsh was singing just like it was 1973 and Schmit was pretty good. All in all it was an AA++ concert that I got to share with one of my best friends who is the biggest Eagles fan I know.
Joe, I can't thank you enough for coming over for the night, I'll never forget it.
I bought the Eagles new CD the day it was released, "Long Road Out Of Eden", they played a bunch from that CD which was excellent, but I gotta say, when they played the title track, I got a whole new appreciation for that song. Man, they hit it out of the park! They had a drive and punch to that song that's not on the album, it was just phenomenal.
WOW, what a night.
So gentlemen, sorry for the delay, we were up till 1:30 and I was back up at 4:00 getting ready for work, I'm drag ass tired, but it was well worth it, well worth it.
