I wish we would have taken a picture of my "green" brother in law when that Opus kicked his ass. That would have been entertaining.
As for me drunk. Shit, that would be like the energizer bunny on roids. The wife says I am a "happy drunk" and just don't shut up. I don't believe her. But I can't remember shit when she makes those comments.
When we do Vegas next year (golf outing) I will have to let my freak flag fly.

I think you may be a bit hard on the guy IMO.
Maybe a genious, maybe not, but if he only planned to make the exact number of cigars and jars he announced he would release, he'd be an idiot. Everyone in production leaves some wiggle room for errors, mistakes, damages, quality control, etc. And his whole overage can't meet the demand of a single shop- it sold out how fast? I think it's good planning on his part, but for more than marketing! One thing is for sure, he's no idiot!
On top of that. Pete does not sit in the shop and count how many sticks are being made. I beleive the ones that showed up after the sell out, he was not totally aware of until someone in his shop said, "hey, I got these left over". Also, I beleive Pete had a couple issues with the manufacturer of the jars at first. Not quite possitive to what the issue was, but I think it had something to do with how it was released.
Pete is top notch. And if you have not figured it out by now. I don't think he is thinking about the $$. He just makes damn good shit for damn good smokers. I thank him for that.
Oh no Scotty. Pete does want to make money. lol... But he also wants to make a quality product that he enjoys, as well as other people enjoy. He isn't arrogant and is down to earth. Stop by his shop and you will see the true man. The man will hand you a cigar everytime. Proud to call him a friend! Well that and glad I'm on his good side, so his two Rotts don't eat me... lol
Let me clarify.
Yes, the man needs to make a living and does well. What I am getting at is "I" beleive (but who am I) that he takes great pride in his work and how he distributes his goods and treats his consumer base. I don't beleive he is trying to corner the market on screwing cigar smokers.

Are you kidding? I got the email on my crackberry last night and my computers were down at the house (damn reinstalls). So I called Dan direct and placed my order. Very nice lineup. Order placed.
And I talked to Eric "live" last night. Seems like the usual Tat suspect. He seems really cool. We'll have to see if we can get the three amigos (Pete/Dan/Eric) together for the Vegas gig. That would be too cool.
Eric is is very cool. We will definitely have to meet up with them in Vegas!
