i am not a big fan of lockers. in my opinion, the average cigar shop owner does not know what we know about taking care of cigars. i have seen some awesome looking lockers that had piss poor humidification. i was in a very high end lounge that charged top dollar for lockers. box upon box of cigars were ruined. owner did not care one bit. he refused to fix the problem. igloo in a closet is safe and cheap

I could see that being a problem. One of my local B&Ms has a great manager though. He goes through all of the lockers once a week to make sure that beetles haven't damaged anything, and to rotate boxes/cigars in each locker to make sure they are all being equally humidified - the lockers go around the humidor near the ceiling and have holes in the bottom to allow circulation. There is a shop on the west side of town that has their lockers outside of their humidor, completely NON-humidified and completely sealed from outside air, seems like a big waste of $ in that type of situation.

My apologies for the threadjack earlier. Our lockers are located right outside of our humidor but have their own active humidification system built in. There are hygrometers dispersed throughout and the manager checks them several times a week. It is the most well managed system i have seen, all due to the manager, Larry, and his attention to the details that could easily be forgotten. I have a hygro in my locker there and the RH is always right on. One reason B&M's would keep rental lockers out of the store humidor would be due to the different RH's that they may want for each. I know a lot of shops keep the RH jacked up a bit in their humidor to allow for some drying out of the cigars during transport and help account for inexperience in the buyer. You would not want a locker used to store your sticks over time to be in a condition of higher RH, you would prefer the RH to be on the low end, hence the separation. Also, as is the case in our shop, there are so many facings in the humidor right now that there is no room for new cigars, let alone a whole set of lockers. Starting to ramble, but from what i know those are some of the reasons for the two not being together.

I've been checking on the place. They have the best reputation in the area and the few times I've popped in since stocking up my locker everything has been great. The store with my locker is the "baby" store if you will from place 15-20 min away that has a big walk-in with truly awesome selection. They are not missing much if anything at all.

Back to the baby store. They operate using small cabinets each with it's own humidification and they keep them at 68% and the store is kept ~70 so the humis are usually around 70* or a little less. I feel my investment is completely safe in the store there. I will still be working towards my own cabinet and only rely on this as a temporary storage location.

Cool I am glad to hear that.
