At CWS's request, I'd like to say 'hello' to everyone and that I've already enjoyed most everything I've read here.
When I first fell in love with rolled leaves, I started frequenting a now-deceased forum over at jrcigars. They decided they'd rather run a cigar company than a forum, so I've been on my own ever since.
What I loved about that community was the camaraderie and the chance to participate in box passes, newbie trades, and informal reviews. It appears that BotL has all of that and more, so I'm excited to have found it.
My real name is Clint (you can call me Simon or Clint) and I'm a 27 year old guy in T-Town Oklahoma. Been (mostly) happily married to my high school sweetheart for over 8 years now. I smoked my first cigar at my bachelor party, which goes to show you that good things do come out of marriage. :wink:
I dove into cigars and did a bunch of box passes and trades, so I had a decent stash built up in my first 6 months. I built a coolidor to house them all and have been whittling away at my original collection while snatching up a box here and a single there that I just couldn't live without.
I've recently switched careers and am a financial advisor. That meant a significant pay cut and a lot more work for less pay. It's a commission job and I'm essentially self-employed, so the potential is there - it's just going to take some time to build my practice.
That means I've had to cut back on my cigar purchases and really wait for bargains since I'm simultaneously telling my lovely wife (who now brings home the bacon) that she can't buy clothes, purses, and shoes.
I'm also a big fan of beer - I'll drink the macro-lagers, but really love a good amber or brown.
The avatar is a reflection of my love for bulldogs and the leaf. Have a great English Bulldog named Ajax, but I can't convince him to smoke with me. I almost went with my standard Clint Eastwood photo, since I was named after him, but someone else is already using Clint. Think I like this one better anyways.
In the short, I'm looking forward to meeting most of you and participating in some trades. Smoke'em if you got'em. :smokingbo
