Thanks everyone. I have to say this is a very positive and helpful board. Very friendly to new members as well as patient. I can't wait to put my sticks in and not have to worry about them getting damaged.

I believe Ron sells an ajustable hygrometer and the calibrating pack. Easy, very accurate.

Good choice, this is exactly what you needed. Now that you spent the money to make it go smoothly, be sure to season it well.

I noticed they have seasoning packs but from reading it you need 3 of them to season a humidor. I was also curious why the RH to season was so much higher than what you want to keep the RH at.

basicly because you want it to moisten to wood a bit. Let a couple small bowls of water sit in there for a week or so and you should be fine. Also when you add your smokes, you may lose some RH as the absorb some.

biggest things is to be patient when seasoning. if you throw your cigars in when its not ready it will draw the moisture out of them to continue the seasoning. Great by and also when it says it holds 75-100 its more like 50 be ready to size up. great buy

While I got everything in and I got DH20 sitting in my humidor in a shot glass. My question is can I use something bigger than a shot glass to speed up the process? Like maybe tupperware?

Yes. The more the merrier. I use a couple of glases and put a clean sponge or paper towel in them to disperse the moisture.

The sponge or paper towel acts as a wick helping to disperse the water. The more surface area the better.
Never thought about it that was. I'll add something like that to the second drawer/compartment thing. I was so anxious when I got my humidor in the mail that I went searching to find DH20 and when I got back I forgot that we have a DH20 dispenser in my lab. :closedmou

so my RH reads 69% in the humidor. I was wondering if it is seasoned now. It's only been around 3 days since I've started the seasoning process. If I have RH beads at 65% is the 69% readying fine.

Also should I wet my heartfield beads now and place them in and keep checking the RH before I place the cigars in?
