I guess my boss and his boss, do not know that I have access to unfinalized schedules.

I was looking at it today and saw that 8 pit managers (including myself) are not on the scheduel for the week of 1/16 thru 1/23.

I the bad thing is they just told us last week that there will be no lay-offs. Guess they were just blowing smoke up are asses. :argh: :angerhead :angerFU:

I know the feeling. I got the same "no layoff" smokescreen too.
Sorry to hear about it though, it does suck balls.

The good thing is you get a few more minutes of sleep in the am and a good cigar for lunch. Hell, I don't get out of my pajamas until 10 am!~

I am not even going to look for a job untill May. Even if I could find a job in this business, they would not let me have the time off for the cruise in April.

Are you sure it's a lay-off or is it just for that week? Might want to find out before you burn any bridges.

Good luck either way.

My thought, too. Do you know that they've finished scheduling for that week? Don't be too anxious to join the unemployed.

I am sure. I did not say I was not going back to work, I am just kinda upset they would lie to us. I have not told anyone else, because when they do lay us off there is a good chance of a call back, but I have access to a file that they have no idea I have access to, and I can read write ups and other things I should not be able to.

Hate to see anyone laid off or lose their job at this point,,,but you do have an inside track that you can put to your advantage. Never burn a bridge with an employer unless you have hit the lottery. If anything, if and when you are laid off, put in for your unemployment benefits immediately, bone up your resume' and network around. Always keep your resume' updated and NEVER, EVER let your employer know what you are thinking as I use to be a Plant Manager and I knew just from employees actions what they were thinking. Go about your business as normal and take action on what you know that is coming,,,,proactive action is the key,,,not reaction.!

That sucks man, I'm really surprised to hear of layoffs at casinos in Vegas. I've heard that the housing market was one of the worst in the country as far as inflated bubbles go...and I guess that bubble burst is finally starting to hit the job market. I gotta imagine though that Vegas has gotta be one of the more insulated communities due to the massive tourism it attracts. I think things will bounce back for ya in no time.
