Sounds like you have alot more energy than I. Haha!

I love the look of wood floors, and there is something special about authentic, rustic wood floors as apposed to the newer locking style.

If you have a herf, I would have to take the road trip - you're about what, 3 hours away?

Good luck!

very impressive Matt, I would love to make it to your herf when it happens, but unless my lotto numbers hit, I'll probably miss it.

Matt,

I didn't mention that the house looks pretty good! Long ago I'd thought of buying an old house and fixing it up but when the time came I realized I didn't have the energy to deal with it. (Also lived in a different city.) What was on the outside before the new siding? Whatever it was, the new stuff looks great. (I agree with you about the ugly curtains. I think I would've put them in the trash already.)

Wood stoves are cool, too. I rented a place that had one as the primary source of heat (the landlord pulled out the furnace) and it was a lot of fun making fires every day. Heated up the whole house pretty well.

BUT BE CAREFUL AND HAVE THE FLUE CHECKED. After I moved out the owner moved back in and the house caught on fire from a blocked flue.

Huge house for one person -- don't get lost.

You can see the old siding in the first two pictures. Some of it is still above the big half circle window on the right and in the second picture it is still on the dormer on the left.

I would keep the old oak floors if the upstairs was oak to. Since the upstairs is teak and the downstairs is oak AND i already have around 750 sf of teak left (just enough to do the down stairs) it just makes more sense to put the teak in. Plus the teak is REALLY nice (imho)

3 hours sounds about right.
