So I walked into the B&M today called The Tobacco Company only to find a sign posted. The sign ominously posted under the TV said "this lounge will be smoke free as of Feb 1 thanks to the Dr. three doors down". What has happened is that in this strip mall that the cigar shop has been located in for around 10 years has now been forced to go smoke free due to a Dr.'s office that moved in two years ago. This Dr.'s office is the only one that wants it to be smoke free, and the strip mall owner is a cigar smoker. Due to the legal mumbo jumbo he folded. The shop is going to play hardball I think and not to mention patrons like myself. Once other shop owners start smoking around there the shop owner is already talking about going back to smoking in the near future. The good news it they're planning on staying even though the lease is up in April. We'll see though I guess.

Glad I didn't start working there!

The big deal is the Dr. is a horses ass. There is ventilation and the owners even had the firewalls redone once the Dr. moved in and started complaining. Not like they're air systems are connected. It's just someone trying to rain on someone else's parade. I may move a outdoor table closer to his office with a couple guys to smoke some cigars.

There is a new B&M in the redeveloped Downtown Kissimmee area...when the owner leased the property patrons were able able to smoke indoors, however when he opened the property, the "law" told him that indoor smoking was not allowed. he purchased some nice outdoor furniture for customers to smoke 'al fresco. So lately, guests of a restaurant 3 doors down who dine outside have been complaining about the smoking. Even though the Chef/Owner is a smoker and B&M customer himself, he finds himself in a dilema. What can they do, but suck it up on both ends!

Thing I love is that these people aren't up in arms about car exhaust but they bitch about smoking because it's become socially righteous to do so.

What "law"? If the B&M doesn't make its money from food it isn't subject to the smoking ban...

Yes that issue down in Florida has me confused. I am a PA resident that took up home in Florida for four years.

My favorite lounge however is being forced smoke free by the building owner (who is based in Philly).
