My wife got a virus on her computer, so she reinstalled windows on her computer. That is what BB told her to do. The only problem is, she had WINDOWS XP, but she used my WINDOWS VISTA disc. Now she has both versions on her computer, and it is running real slow. It keeps telling her her disc space is very low.

My question is how do I take off the old version of WINDOWS XP off her computer? I tried to restart the old version, but it will not open. I know somone can help.

You'll need to insert the Vista disc again, and when the screen comes up to install the OS, you'll need to clean the HD by removing both OS's, reinstalling just Vista or just XP. If the computer has less than 512 MB of ram, you shouldn't install Vista.

It will give you the option when the OS disc is in the drive. It will either ask you to partition the drive and then you can select what to remove - you'll want to remove both OS's, or it will ask you if you want to do a clean install and remove any other OS's.

I'm not quite sure what it will say, but it's something to that effect. Let me know what you see if you have an issue.
