Acids In Humi.

OK so a friend is gifting me a small humi. he had laying around. One problem he had acids in it. Is there a way to make it safe to put some of my sticks in it?

Yeah it's pretty much ruined unless you want to taste aqua velva on all of your sticks you put in that humi?

I don't know if I would use it, you could try airing it out for a few weeks and see how it does. But I would most likely burn it.

Put several boxes of baking soda in it. Not sure it will work, but it's the only tip I've heard that made sense to me.

If it stinks of Acids - gift it to someone who would like it.

Mitch's idea is pretty good too, but I would stash it somewhere & forget about it for a while to make sure the smell was gone before I put anything else in it.

Absolutely nothing you do will extract strong musty or flavor odors from a humidor. Squid® has tried this professionally on at least six boxes to no avail. Use the box to keep your collection of cutters and accessories.

I used to keep pipe tobacco in a humi and the same thing has happened. I tried to sand the interior, wash it, etc. Nothing will get the smell out that I know off...

I had a problem with a humi a friend got, he wanted me to season it. I tried wiping it down with denatured alcohol. It seemed to work well, All I can say is to try it.
