So I read online that Mecican Coke is made with cane sugar as opposed to Coke we get in the US that's made with beet sugar. Apparently the taste of the cane sugar Coke is supposed to be superior. Now we have Boylans sodas at the lounge and they're made with cane sugar, the Creme flat out rocks. Anyone ever have a Mexican Coke? Is it really that much better?

I love mexican Coke, as well as the Mexican Fanta. There is deffinetly a difference in taste. Come on out and we'll make a trip to TJ, and bring some back.

I had one about 12 years ago. I don't know about the sugar, but it was in one of those old fashion coolers in the old style bottles. When I popped the top, there was a layer of slush on the top of the soda. It was probably the best Coke I've ever had. It could have been because it was that cold or because I was just really thirsty.

I've never had Mexican coke but I do think that cane sugar has a much better taste.

So there's no place in the States to get it I assume? Hmmm, may have to go on a mission here. Moro, NO, you're not sending me any Mexican Coca Cola, don't even think about it. :nono:

I keep a cooler in the shop during the winter and I keep bottles of water and Coke Zero in there. I LOVE it when it gets cold enough that when you crack one open, it starts to freeze up a bit and get slushy, good stuff.

When I was in Nicaragua last fall visiting the Drew Estate Factory, we had Coke (made with cane sugar) and it was far superior to the stuff here in the states.

The rum and coke I drank (made with Flor de Cano Rum) were just out of this world....and I drank quite a few of them.

So in my opinion, yes, it is that much better!

i've had it, and i've even seen it in a few places, although i can't bring them to mind at the moment......ugh.
but the taste is better. more like i remember as a kid.
so why, if they have cuban cigars and good coke, is there such a desire to immigrate here?

Cane-sugar is definitely superior to corn-syrup.

I have not had a Mexican coke, but I love Jones Soda - great tasting cane-sugar soda, widely available.

Yum mexican Coke! You should try the splenda coke, that should essentially be the same thing as cane coke minus the calories.
In what sense is splenda (sucralose, a chlorocarbon) the same thing as cane sugar (a hydrocarbon)?

Coke is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, actually. :) Beet sugar is actually pretty tasty.
