Mexican Cokes tastes VASTLY superior to the Coke we get in the US. The first time I had it (like 12 years ago) I thought I was trippin' or something, it was so good.

I think benzopyrene was suggesting that splenda is a reasonable alternative to sugar - initial marketing for the stuff suggested that it tasted like sugar because it's made from sugar, sort of technically true statement in the same way that alcohol is made from sugar, although I don't think you'd use everclear as a sweetener. I was merely illustrating the significant chemical difference between the two. I also personally do not like the taste of splenda.

Had a Mexican coke a few years back. I don't normally drink Coca-Cola, but this was definitely a tasty beverage.

I've not had pops for about a year and something by now; but YES, mexican coke is a blood load better than american. And Wade, no need to worry; it'd burst open with the pressure changes on the trip...

...Or would it?

You can get it all over here at Greeley, including wal-marts. It's WAY better than the corn syrup shit we have!

I acutally just finished up a four-pack of mexican coke. Definitely tastier than regular coke and on the technical side it has a much more pleasant mouthfeel.

If you want the best damn rum and coke you've ever had I suggest you mix it with Ron Zacapa 23 or Matusalem 15. Yummmmmmmy

Actually, now that I'm thinking of it, when I had orange Fanta in Spain, it was like a whole 'nother soda. It's kinda sad that we don't even realize how much tastier certain soft drinks are in other parts of the world.

On a side note, diet coke was better than regular coke in Spain. Don't ask me how, it just was. And for the record I normally despise diet Coke.

So its my understanding that cane sugar is sucrose... sucrose is nothing more than glucose and fructose which your body eaily breaks apart to produce those two molecules to transport across the intestines and into circulation. Splenda is mostly dexrose which is the R-Isomer of glucose (meaning it cant be absorbed by the body) thus you get the sweet taste without the caloric intake and the extra fructose which if I recal correctly will actually produce twice as much energy in your body. Id have to look it all up, but thats what I was thinking.
