Hey guys, so I just got myself a new humidor (mini cabinet, glass front and four drawers) And I was seasoning it with a sponge that I saturated with distilled water but I forgot to put it on a plastic bag and left it on a paper towel in one of my drawers for about four days. Well I took out the drawer today and it was soaked pretty well with water. At the moment I've got the one drawer sitting out in the open to try an dry it out a bit.

Should I be ordering myself a new drawer or should it eventually stabilize? Thanks!

See what happens with it. Mabe just set that drawer back in and use the extra water in that drawer to season the rest of it. Also you don't need to wipe down the wood. If the drawer has warped then maybe order something else, but you should be OK after things stabalize

It'll be fine once it dries. The only issue is that the water may have stained the cedar (water mark). See what happens & then make the decision if you want to replace or not.

Give your humidor time to stabalize before you put smokes in it though, your cigars are better off in a plastic bag for now than in a humidor that wet.

Yeah, it need to seriously get my s*** in order cause I'm running out of room in my temp humidor FAST. I got 19 cigars this week alone (this is A LOT for me). So bascially I had 15 cigars in my old humidor and in the matter of a week I more than doubled that amount thanks to some brothers and the devil bidding website and those damn ECCJ's making a triumphant return.

Puth the drawer back in and let it stabilize slowly which may help curtail any warping.

NEVER use a sponge or wipe with water directly onto the wood. This added moisture too fast potentially causing damage or not letting all the wood season evenly and properly. Better to go slowly with a Bovida pack or a shot glass of water and leave them in there till you hit your RH levels you want. Then and only then add the cigars and watch for RH changes.

As some of the guys said you should put the drawer back in and let it stabilize in the humi rather than letting it dry completely which would most likely cause the cedar to warp dependant on how much water was really on it.

Yeah, it's kinda too late for the Boveda pack....
I'm just going to give it several days to stabilize. It's reading 79 at the moment so should I let it drop to 70 or just wait for that bottom drawer to dry? Thanks!
