I may be out of work right now and my brain has turned to mush but my calculator still works so I did some math.

I just figured out if the Govt gave away 1 million dollars every day since Christ was born they would have given away less money then the stimuls plan will. Holy sh!t.

First I am assuming Christ was born in the year 0. I am only doing this for the sake of simpler math. I am only using Christ as an example because it is an easy date to start from. This is not a Christian comparison, nor a theological when did the star actually appear, or even a it really wasn't zero it was 3 AD or 3 BC thing.

1,000,000 X 365 = 365,000,000
365,000,000 X 2009 = 733,285,000,000
2009 / 4 = 502 502 leap years = 502,000,000,
733,285,000,000 + 502,000,000 = 733,787,000,000
43 days this year X 1,000,000 = 43,000,000
733,787,000,000 + 43,000,000 = $733,830,000,000

Last time the news was on the stimulus plan would cost the American people $789,000,000,000

That freaked me out.

Another way to look at it is that if you had started paying it back at the rate of $1,000,000.00 per day every day since Christ was born, even the principal still wouldn't be paid off. :cryloud:

Too scary to think about.

Obama 5 months ago, "The Bush administration has a legacy of record debts and runaway spending. We need to bring CHANGE to Washington!"

Obama 5 days ago, "I'd like a Trillion dollars, please."

Funny how politics works, isn't it?

Don't forget this 789 billion is just the (first) direct spending stimulus under Obama.

This does not include the 700 Billion TARP plan that was approved last October. ($350 Billion still to be allocated)
Nor the 1-2 TRILLION that is being proposed by Geithner to cover bad bank assets and fund small business + consumer loans. :lookaroun

Seems to me it would be easier to just allow all US citizens to print money on their home PC.

Ahh, but the economic stimulus, when it actually creates new work, isn't quite the same as giving away money. Now the TARP program, on the other hand...LOL

and if you are concerned about your health care when you get older, please don't read what they have planned for you!!!

Yeah, as everyone knows I had a heart attack back in October, and was laid off last month. I have Cobra untill mid 2010 unless Obama extends it for ($1330 a month, that only includes medical, not dental and vision). We looked at getting a personal policy but no one will give me insurance for 5 years due to the heart attack. Oh yeah that 5 years starts when the cardiologist tells me I can stop taking the meds I am on.

The problem I have is even the Cardiologist can not tell me why I had one, so you can't tell me I am high risk. He told me that he does not think I will ever have another one, but he can not be for sure.
