This is something i've been working on for about a week. It's a project i've been doing for school, the theme is "Greek god's" My class represents Poseidon and a friend and i are mermaids. What i'm about to show is the process of the mermaid tails that i made. I know it's not very "wow" for men, but just wanted to let you guy's know that that's what i wanna live for.
P.S. Sorry for the picture quality, it was taken with my cell phone.

Step 1. Pattern made (at my size) and on top of the fabric i used.

Step 2. Make a pattern for the fin.

Step 3. Place the two patterns together to see if it's in proportion.

Step 4. Cut both patterns in the same fabric.

Step 5. Place the cut-out-fin-pattern on another piece of fabric.

Step 6. Place both pattern to make a contrast with the fabric. "Does the color go with it?, will that fabric sew to the other fabric?" (It's very important that fabrics have almost the same texture to be able to sew it together)

Step 7. Open both patterns to see of they're equal and place cotton under the tail for more volume.

Step 8. Make a pattern of CD's to see how it would look on top of the fabric.

Step 9. Make a small conclusion on how would it look with the fin and then take the CD's off and start sewing what would be the cotton inside the fin (blue fabric on the bottom and the shiny fabric on the top), sew the fin with the rest of the tail and sew strings to them, 6 in total, to tie to the legs.

Step 10. Finally, paste the CD's on the tail and Voila!

Look at that gorgeous body on the last photo! And by the way, ye should see the clothes she's made for herself!
