This Space For Rent
Well, it looks like my girlfriend and I will be departing the islands soon. While we were in New York this past week, her dad let me in on something he's been wanting. Specifically, he wants me to take half of his roofing business. I'll be running crews, estimates, marketing, etc. I went out with him over the weekend to see exactly what I'd be doing, and it looks like a 'go'. His partner he had from the get-go stole $3,000,000 (yes, 7 figures) due to gambling issues. He "wants somebody who's willing to work hard, adapt and has the smarts to make it work". Apparently I fit that criteria :applause:
Truth be told, I like living here, but I don't want to be a career bartender. There is nothing wrong with that, and the money is great, but over the past couple years I'm not so much a night owl anymore, and it'll be nice not to be under someone else's thumb. Did I mention I can smoke on the job? :halfgrinw
It'll be tough to leave the sands and oceans behind, but atleast I can say I did it. Guess I'll have to change my name to Long Islander....
