Skype is an awesome tool!
I've been using it for about three years now. It was my phone while I was over in Turkey. It's how my family and I keep in contact for free. I have a brother in Japan I was in Turkey, sister in L.A. and the rest of them reside in PA. Phone tag was a pain but we were all able to talk through skype for free baby.

Squid® just never got into Skype... It's unnecessary with free long distance and a Blackberry.
Skype is great my wife uses it primarily to talk to her grandma and aunt in Hungary. We've done some video calls as well with her brother in Virginia. Its cool to be able to see and talk to someone you don't see often.
Someone has had a standalone wifi phone out for a while now that has the Skype app on it. That way whenever I was traveling internationally and I ran into wifi I could have made free calls to my wife/family. I just couldn't justify the $150 for the convenience.
Right, I was just mentioning it for those that don't have an Iphone. I'm sure the wifi phone has dropped in price by this time as well.
