Hey, I've noticed there are a few traders getting away with selling cigars on ebay! They state the item is for collection purposes and the value of the packaging is greater than the value of the cigars themselves. Its a little more risky than your average online cigar purchase, but the price is right! I was going to tell you all about this after I'd won this auction, so you all do out-bid me! but upon further review of the play, I really can't afford it. So here's what I've been scheming to buy.

Let me explain this from the way I see it. So most of the sellers on e-bay are selling "collectible bands." Which have been properly stored at 70/70, cigars are not for consumption, not available in stores, packaging greater than the value of the cigars...yada, yada, yada.

So, let's just say that you purchase these "bands", and that's what you get...bands. Is the seller at fault? Is the buyer at fault? Can negative feedback be given for a sale that was exactly what the seller promoted? I've seen plenty of auctions where no cigars are pictured, just the band. Even if cigars are pictured, e-bay has policies against the sale of alcohol and tobacco, so can any recourse be taken, I wouldn't think so. BUYER BEWARE!

very true, thats why its riskier, I look for the seller mentioning that tobacco will be apart of the package, then I look at the detailed feedback from that individual seller and other auctions to verify. I've looked at this auction for some time now and have decided that its on the level. But I'm sure that band only crap has been pulled before!

Even still, if the cigars are there, they don't have to be authentic as the guys selling bands. So if you make a purchase and the cigars are not legit, you have no leg to stand on to leave negative feedback or possibly get your money back, you got what you bought, bands. Just my .02, I'd never purchase cigars from e-bay.

Whenever you buy on eBay, only by from people with good feedback--the more the better. I have seen some guys that it seems sell cigars there for a living, or close to it. I've made a living off eBay in the past (not cigars), so I don't fault them for it if they are honest and really selling product that was properly stored...buy you have no way of knowing until you get it!

I'd not take the chance unless the person has good seller feedback (lots) and the purchase is guaranteed by "PooPoo" (which I doubt it would be...I think they don't deal with tobacco at all, even if it's "bands" and boxes).

That's what I'm saying, how can you guarantee a product that's against your policies, e-bay and **.
