So I recently bought a 600 count cabinet humi and some 65% Heartfelt beads. I seasoned the Humi for 6 days then added about 300+ sticks. I bought 1 lb of the beads on a recommendation. My problem is my humidity has been 78%! I filled 3 of the rectangular deals with the beads and placed them under each of the 3 shelves...the remainder of the beads are in the sock bag that the beads came with at the bottom on the humi with an Oust fan at the bottom of the humi and an Oust fan at the top...So I take out the sock bag and open the door to get the humidity to drop...and it did to 73%...close the door and back to 76%...so I take out 2 of the rectangles filled with the beads so I just have 1 in the whole Humi...now I am at 72%. I have a cigar Oasis in my 125ct humi and it is at 66% (same area of house) and I calibrated the digital hygrometer I have in the 600ct from my cigar oasis. Anyone have any ideas on this? I have another 100 sticks on the way and I need to get this figured out. :squinteye

(this is about week 3 with the Humi)

It takes time to release RH, so it might've been to little of it with the humidor open. Now, the beads: how did they look? All clear?

Yeah, the beads were clear for the most part. They have been sitting out for the past few days and are returning to the opaque color...I thought maybe if I put them back that they might soak up some of the excess humidity but when I put them back the humidity raises.

Ok, I am gonna leave the 1 rectangle in there and that is it to see if it drops in the next week...I guess I can always add more. Thanks! :smokingco

I will bet its more of a problem w/ your hygro, how did you calibrate it? Salt test? I used the salt test at first but you really need to mix the water and salt to the correct proportions for it to work right. I then used a 75.5% RH calibration packet and since then everything has worked great/

he calibrated it against a cigar oasis...
His hygro is fine.

After about 20% of the beads are back to being opaque and white in color... put them back in. That way you have some beads sucking up the excess humidity, and some that will have water ready to release it when needed.
Do not take beads out and put them back in and take them out and put them back. Just leave them in there to do what they do. As long as some of the beads are white, they can soak up excess humidity.
