I prefer full strength, full flavor smokes and am partial to maduros.
My humi consits primarily of...
Camacho Triple Maduro
Partagas Black Label Clasico
La Gloria Cubana Maduro Serie R
Padron 3000 Maduro
Hoyo Dark Sumatra
Punch Rare Corojo
I have been smoking cigars for quite some time but have never gotten into aging.
Will these smokes benifit from aging 1+ years?

I am sure that they will. I have started aging some of my stock. Actually have a humidor just for aging. What did it for me was when I smoked a tat artista that was 6 yrs old. Wow is all I can say.

I think that the consensus is that aging will mellow a "strong" cigar. It will still be full bodied but not as harsh. Then again, what do I know.

That does seem to be the consensus with most cigars. Though I've heard that the Tat brown line matures a lot in the flavor department without loosing it's strength...don't know that from experience, of course, having just gotten into Tats a few months ago.

Ive read in 1 of the cigar aficionados that maduros age less then other oiler cigars. Partly because of the way they are "casked" and partly because of the leaf used. But that still doesnt mean some age wont help.
Just my 2 cents.

Aging takes more than a year. If you want to really know, put some away for 5+ years, smoke one every 6 months or so to see the changes, take notes and compare during each smoke.

At least 3 years is the usual. But I will agree with Wade's 5 year suggestion.
