Hello everyone, Im new on here. Started smoking cigars occasionally a little over a year ago, just recently started smoking better stogies within the last 6 months. Work as as Assistant Superintendent on a golf course so have plenty of time to enjoy a good smoke. Love to golf, camp, fish, hike. Seems like an awesome site and look forward to good conversation and brotherhood!

Ashton VSG, Fuente Hemingways and Don Carlos, LGC Serie R, Upmann Vintage Cameroon, Onyx Reserve, AVO, CAO Brazilia, just picked up 3 different vitolas of Opus X but havent tried any yet since Ive heard they need a little time to mellow out some. Any suggestions on some good smokes to try? Wanna get my hands on some Tatuajes and Anejos to try, my buddy suggested to try to find a couple of those.

Nice!

I think most of us are huge fans of the Tats.

I do not have a taste for the Anejos. If you can find them at MSRP maybe, but usually they are really inflated in cost. Just a meh stick for me, same blend as OpusX different wrapper, from what I understand.

Opus are great when they are on. Nothing like them. But every Opus i've been smoking lately has pissed me off. 2-4 year old sticks. :(

Right now I smoke anything that Pete Johnson is selling(Tat, Cab, Ambos, LaReq,etc)

Illusiones - Dion makes damn fine smokes.

Those all sound quite good.... Your buddy has good taste as well. The Anejo Shark is one of my absolute favorites as well as almost all of the Tats/Pete Johnson smokes

Thanks for the suggestions!

I obviously havent had an Anejo yet but dont really plan on spending $30 a whack on a stick when the MSRP is half that! Probably keep my eyes open for a good sale on the net or try to trade w someone for a Shark sometime. Ive seen that CigarsDirect has a sale on them every once in a while but at full price theyre a little too steep for me.

Hey rabb, any suggestions on a good cigar shop in the area??
Closest to you would be Big Sticks at the 101 and 202 next to Bass Pro Shop. If you like a wee bit of the brown liquor with your smoke you can go to Magnum's at Union Hills and 7th. Every place else I know is probably a little far north for you (off Care Free Hwy and up in Anthem) Other than that there are several Churchill's and the Cigar King in Scottsdale.
