Damn. I believe you could have taken the Mfg itinerary to the US Consulate in Chicago and they would have issued you a passport. I did this with airline tickets a few months ago.

Anyway, go to the website, fill out the paperwork and take it to the Post Office today. Right now it is about two weeks, no rush.

Damn,,,,I can't even believe what you went through as far as being given a chance to take a trip like that. Canne is unbelievable,,,cruising across the Atlantic is one of those things you always think about doing,,did that once and it was great but on a vessel like that,,,incredible. Now with your job,,,words can't express how bad I feel. Hope things turn around quick for you.

Personally, I always keep a valid passport in a place I can get to quickly...you never know.
