Question regarding retailer RH levels

Today I decided to check out a new cigar shop about 20 minutes from me because I saw on their website that they have Don Pepin Garcia Blue and Black labels in stock. I went in and things looked impressive, they had a walk-in humidor which I got the key to and took a peak in, which is where I grabbed the Pepin's as well as a couple Oliva Series G's.

Then, I walked into the main room, which had 4 6' wide by 8' tall humidors loaded with singles and began looking through. Then I noticed the RH level, which was set at 45% in every one of the humidors. Is there some reason that the retailer would have their humidors set to this level? I thought it should range from 60-70%, so didn't buy any cigars that were stored in these humidors. Is this a place I should avoid in the future, or is there a good reason they'd store them at that RH?

I would ask the retailer, don't be afraid of them. Any replies here would simply be speculation, go to the source, ask the retailer.

Ah figured I shoulda asked, but being a newbie it's kind of intimidating going into new cigar stores especially when you have to have a store attendant by your side in the humidor picking cigars out, let alone questioning why they do what they do.

truthfully, some cigar shop owners know very little about cigar storage.
I'll have to agree with this. I almost stabbed someone the other day at a B&M for some BS they told me... and somehow it has to do with my age!
And some places that have really nice displays don't know how to maintain em.
