I am ready to place my order. Looks to me like this case would be the best deal. Reason that I am picking this one is because it will hold my 7" x 9" foam trays with the least amount of trimming done to the trays. So, you can order this humi for me, and get my foam trays separate. It will hold about 28 of my foam trays (again, some of the trays might need a little trimming with a scissor). Also remember that you dont even need my foam trays. It comes with foam that you can just cut and trim on your own. You can carry full boxes, partial boxes, 5 finger bags, or anything else you can think of.

this case has the pullout handle and built in wheels. While we are thinking about this for cigars, but more people and companies use these airtight cases for carrying equipment that cant get damaged by water.

A Pelican brand case this size goes for about $145 at the cheap internet dealers.

BOTL price for this case will be $100 plus shipping. Its a heavy case, so shipping could be $15-$20 depending where you live. I will just charge my shipping cost plus a few bucks for shipping boxes.

dimensions are approx 18.5" x 16" x 9"

lmk if you want 1. if you do want 1, I will make my cigar trays available to you at a discounted price. I also sell the spanish cedar trays at a good price. you could load some of them in there with foam trays. some of you good woodworking guys can make a real nice slide in/slide out spanish cedar interior

Ron, how do you think this would compare to just using a cooler, if I could get away with this instead of a cooler, I'm in.
it will be more rugged than a cooler. It will be about as 100% airtight as can be. it has wheels and a handle. It will be the ultimate travel humidor, and can be used as the ultimate desktop. load it with cigars, a few Bovedas, and you will have the most trouble free humidor in existence. just treat as you would any humidor, away from a heat source and baking in sunlight

years ago, i had a case just like this one. Arlin Liss made me a custom interior. it was pretty damned cool looking. it kept my cigars perfect. just make sure you open it once a week. if you will be away from your humidor longer than that, open the purge valve, and you will get a slight amount of air exchange without drying out the cigars.

Is that 28 of the 9" x 7" trays? With trays, approx how many cigars will this thing hold?

This thing would actually be a killer Herf humi. Let me think about it but I might definitely be interested in one.

I really like this Ron, will the group buy still be up when you get there or is this the price for a pre-order only?
i am getting in just a few. anybody who commits here will get 1. i will also have a few extra for latecomers at same price. they wont be big sellers, so i do have to watch how many i buy.

Damn that's a lot of cigars. This is sounding very interesting indeed!

Are you taking a head count for a number to order or are you going to go ahead and place and just havr them on your site for sale?
honestly, I would like to have a head count. as i said, i might only order 2 extra over what you guys commit too. i have a feeling that once some pics start floating around, the 2 extras will be gone fast

if they start to get popular, this is something that i would really have to get at least $125 to make it worthwhile.

think of it this way, you guys are my initial test group, and you are getting a discount. if it becomes a regular item for me, this whole thread and any mention of the price is getting deleted.

Damn, that's HUGE.:crosseyed

I didn't see it mentioned, but I'm assuming you're carrying only the black color?

hello eric. good to hear from you

you can chose black or yellow

i have been selling otterboxes to kayak shops. even though black is the most popular color, it also gets hottest when out in the sun. The yellow stays cooler. the kayak shops have been buying more yellow. Thats something to think about depending on your use of the case.

Wife thinks the 50 case is absurd. If I buy that baby I am a dead man. But then fathers day is coming up fast.

Ron, I need to order some parts and fix my girlfriends car. Depending how much money I have left I want one of these. Even though I don't have enough cigars to fill this thing up.
