MSRP on that stick is around $10. $14.25 isn't terrible (particularly if your state tobacco taxes are high), but the rest of cigarsdirect.com's Opus prices are obscene.
Can't find them around here for less than $25. Forget about the Scorpio or Forbidden, it's like they don't even exist except in dreams! Down side to living on Long Island is everything is expensive.

As far as CD's prices, I couldn't agree more. How much of it though can you blame on the Fuentes for allowing a 300% markup? But that's another thread.

I'm still can't stop looking at this...it's a great deal, but I haven't had the 1948 at all...any thoughts?
I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this yesterday. I really like the 1948. I've never had the 1932 or the 1968 though. I guess I'll find out by next week if I like them or not. I didn't see this until today, so I ended up paying shipping also.

The 1932 is one of my favorites. The 68 is good as well, I've never had the 48. I did jump on it yesterday.

Oddly enough, now the weekely deal is showing an 18 stick bundle of the AB Harvest Selects 97's Robusto for $39 (effectively the same price as 2x 5 packs, so you're getting 8 more smokes free)... and I'm now thinking about jumping on that as well if I can figure out how to sneak all this stuff into the house without my wife seeing me.

I love the Tempus and enjoy the Maxx as well, and while I understand these aren't quite on the same page as the Tempus from what I gather they are pretty good and I've been meaning to give them a try... thoughts?

Well, this post was to let everybody know of a pretty smoking deal I picked up on Famous Smoke for a 30/50 CT Xtreme (Xikar) travel humidor for about $55 shipped (~$30 less than elsewhere, other than Ebay):

http://famous-smoke.com/cigars/search/stats.cfm?ihdnum=25423&Nav=&Ne=

This thing is freaking sweet. Needed something large, so it can share space for the wife's smokes as well...Figured it would pay for itself on the first trip, with a vacation right around the corner (and more ways then one, since we're going to Cancun:innocent:). But, while it will let me add it to my cart (just trying to replicate the deal), it removes it on checkout- so I guess it's possible I got the last one. Might be worth watching though.

Here's my honest opinion. I'm with you in the fact that the Tempus and Maxx are decent smokes. I've tried a bunch of different AB sticks as well, and none of them are up there like the Tempus or Maxx. I've given the 97s a few shots, and have yet to be impressed. But then again, 40 bones for almost a full box worth does seem like a crime to pass up, even if you only get them for yard 'gars or hand-out smokes. Just my thoughts.

Thx for the $.02! In the end, the price won out, and I jumped lest miss out on what I felt was too good a deal to pass up... I've also tried the Medalist, and while it wasn't on par with the Tempus and Maxx, after a month + in the humi I did find them relatively enjoyable- although I thought they burned crappy (especially in comparison).

If these are as good or better than those (and if the burn is as good as the reviews state), they'll still be worth more than what I've paid for them in my eyes.
