Last week, I made my first trip ever to the eye doctor. I knew I needed eye correction (astigmatism) but never got around to it until now (although under unfortunate circumstances).

I just ordered 2 designer pair for $200 online whereas for just one of the pair at the doctors would have cost $615 :wtf: I highly recommend visiting http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com

Good call Eric! Up until my eye surgery a few years ago, I had worn glasses since I was three, and I spent anywhere from $3-500 a year on prescriptions and frames...

I would have loved to had lasik done but I can't afford it and insurance doesn't cover it. They only reimburse $200/year for prescription/frames.

I came about my money for lasik due to an unforunate death in my immediate family, otherwise, I'd be right there with you on the money front. I think it's a load of crap that insurance will not cover lasik. They'd rather pay $500+ a year for glasses / contacts, etc.

Cool, i've been wearing glasses for 8months already, i can't see small nor further objects. My glasses were a pretty good buy, nike and their flexible so it'll be hard to brake them. Though, if ever do need other glasses in the future or perhaps wanna get some sunglasses with my prescription i'll deff purchase from that web page, i like what they have.

I've had glasses since I was 6 and was just told I need bi-focals. I'm only 42 so I'm a bit depressed about it! Feeling a little old.

Thanks Eric!
After 10 years of using good ol`fashioned drugstore reading glasses, I`m about to take the plunge and go have an eye exam...

...and I like saving money.

I've been buying my glasses online for several years now, thanks to that GlassyEyes blog. I've used a couple of different vendors he's recommended (and one that he no longer recommends, although my experience was just fine).

I just ordered 2 pairs of prescription sunglasses from a place online:

www.zennioptical.com

All-in they came to under 60 dollars delivered (for both pair!). It took 3 weeks for them to arrive from Asia somewhere, but I am very pleased with them.

Hahahahahaha, nice! Though, don't you feel weird with them on right now? It took me like about a week or so to get used to mine.
It's great not having to squint to see the menu on the TV. Driving and walking around feel really weird - like I'm 8 feet tall.

I been wearing my glasses since age 3, had to get the bi-focals about the same time you are, what a world of difference. I can see the little stuff now and "no" more headaches from being in front of a computer.

I'm sure you relieve it but they have had "no-line" bi-focals for years....only you know you are wearing them and you would be surprised how many people wear them now!

If it helps you see better don't even worry about it my friend.

Been ordering glasses for many years, online. Mine are progressive. For you guys considering it, you can get exactly the same thing that your local optometrist sells at $600, for $300 - $375. Once you take the time to understand pupillary distances and segment height, you can measure for yourself and get a good prescription. I use BestBuyEyeGlasses.com, but there are many others as Eric suggests.
