I have mixed feelings to a degree. Yeah, he deserves 150+ years no doubt. But many of the people that gave him money to invest did so because they thought they were going to get HUGE returns. When the market would return 5-7% he was promissing 10-15%. Greed, it will bit you in the ass every time.

hope he looks good in an orange jumpsuit
He will only be in the orange jumpsuit during transport to the Federal Facility by the U.S. Marshal Service.

Upon his arrival he will be issued several pairs of khaki's - shirt and pants.

Sentenced inmates are required to work if they are medically able. Institution work assignments include employment in areas like food service or the warehouse, or work as an inmate orderly, plumber, painter, or groundskeeper. Inmates earn 12¢ to 40¢ per hour for these work assignments.

I seem to recall that inmates with very long sentences (>10 years?) are automatically considered escape risks and aren't eligible for the minimum security prison camps. Of course, if he managed to hide away even a small fraction of the money he stole, it would be enough money to make his stay much more pleasant.

Madoff deserves this and much more. He stole pensions and savings from many people. The ones you hear about are millionaires losing some of thier fortunes but you do not hear about the people that are working class and have families to take care of or retired people that lost thier pensions. When investors researched this guy he did a dman good job of keeping his books clean until the house of cards fell. He will die in prison, hopefully doing hard time.

"The investigation has found that in reality, Madoff never made any investments, instead using the money from new investors to pay returns to existing clients....and to finance a lavish lifestyle for his family."
