Seriously... tickets??? That's just crazy. Our local paper had to run 4 pages of MJ news after residents complained that it wasn't wasn't receiving enough press in the newspaper, I wrote the editor and told them to just turn on the TV.....MJ's funeral
With the unreleased music alone I bet they could easily milk it over the next 15-20 years.i heard some $ numbers last nite regarding his music being bought since he died. his family is gonna rake in 100's of millions.
I'm not so sure that there's a bunch of unreleased stuf out there. I could be wrong, but with the way he was hurting for money (and spending it), you would figure anything unreleased would have seen the light of day by now. I mean it had been almost 15 years since he had released anything! With the unreleased music alone I bet they could easily milk it over the next 15-20 years.
I heard on the radio yesterday that the Thriller Album alone has out sold all the Beatles records together... not sure if it's true, but that's what was being touted! Is he the number one seller of all time, or is it still the beatles? If he's not number one...he may be soon.
Tupac has a new album to be released in June 2010 and his career was no where near the longevity of MJ's.I'm not so sure that there's a bunch of unreleased stuf out there. :dunno:
You mean Joe will be set-up for life, don't you?I heard that he has over a hundred unreleased songs already recorded to be given to his children when they're old enough to accept the responsibility of what to do with them. If handled right, when released, they will set those kids up for life and then some. Great thinking ahead, I've also heard that Prince has done the same thing.
Tupac's music was still relevant when he died MJ's was dated. He spent tons of money on making stupid music videos and promotion without reinventing himself or catching up with the latest trends in music. If you listen to the post Tupac releases you get the feeling that this man spent all his life in a recording studio. MJ spent all his childhood in one and seemed almost sick of the music business his recent relases were crap at best. Who bought blood on the dance floor or scream? People may buy his cds out of a sense of nostalgia but we all know Thriller was his best stuff.Tupac has a new album to be released in June 2010 and his career was no where near the longevity of MJ's.
Now that would interest me!Jimi Hendrix has an uncirculated tour CD coming out later this month, recorded 40 years ago.
