The Toughest Day

Is today as I'll be taking my son to the Marine Recruiting Center. Tomorrow I'll watch him be sworn in as a Marine and give him to the US Government for at least 5 years. He will be doing a job that I can not, I'm so proud of him I can't put it into words.

I remember the day I hopped on the Greyhound that was going to take me to bootcamp. My Mom and Dad were a mess. They tell me it was their saddest and proudest moment of their life. Their boy was leaving to find out how to be a man. I like to think the Navy did that to me.

Your Son is the essence of bravery. He is willing to do what most won't. You and your Son are the reason this country is as good as it is. Thank you and please thank your Son.
