I bought a used humidor over a year ago and I recently noticed some mold on some cigars. Is there a proper way to remove the mold if I wanted to keep the humidor? Let me say that this is not your top of line box, just wondering if it's worth the effort? I know my supply will grow over time, and eventually I'll need another humidor, but I have since purchased a very nice humidor and have inspected and transferred most of my sticks to the new humidor. The one with the mold is a Thompsons, and yes I've heard everything from they're junk to they work fine. I haven't had any complaints up until now, but again, wondering if I should just toss it and invest in another quality humidor when I need the storage?

There are several threads on this I believe. As for the box itself, if its a cheapo, don't even worry about it, too much hassle to get it fixed. Toss it out and pick up a new one. As you may already know, coolers and tupperware are cheap alternatives to a larger humidor.
Always use distilled water and if you haven't already, invest in some 65% beads.

slightly damn rag and just gently wipe them off, they'll be fine. If the mold has gotten into the foot of the cigar, then pitch it, if not, wipe off and enjoy.
