...still baffles me sometimes.

For instance: Partagas cigars out of one box taste a bit bland and lifeless, but the very same brand/vitola out of a different box and different year tastes delicious and yummy.

Eh, Cuba! :dunno:

Different rollers, different storage conditions, different years.....not that surprising, but yeah, lack of consistency can sometimes be aggravating.

That's one of the things I love about cigars. Every one is a unique, hand crafted work of art. There are so many factors that go into the experience. Storage, different crops of leaves, different rollers, different ages, your situation when smoking the cigar and the environment you are in at the time and many other factors each play their role in the experience. Sometimes it all comes together to create an unforgettable experience, good or bad.

Cigars are like wine - different from year to year. It is amazing that Fuente can blend their cigars so consistently. But even with AF - some years are better. Take this years offerings for the Hemingway classic - it is great, the best in years.

To me, look at the difference in flavor and taste between the original La Ricky's versus the new round ones.
